Career Highlights
Thomas Woodroffe was born in July 1789, the son of Reverend Thomas Woodroffe of Ockley, Surrey. He was educated at St John's College, Oxford, and was professor of classics at the Royal Military College at Sandhurst from 1814-1816. He was Secretary of the CMS Committee from 1825 till 1832, and was afterwards rector of parishes in Spitfields, the Isle of Wright, Winchester, Hants and Surrey. He died at Amberwood, Christchurch, in May 1878.
