Walker, George Washington (1800 - 1859)

Member of the Society of Friends. With fellow Quaker, James Backhouse, Walker travellled through the Australian and African colonies between 1832 and 1841. They visited the Wellington Valley mission in September 1835. Walker returned to Australia in 1840, settling in Hobart (Tasmania) where he died in 1859.
