"CESSNOCK EAST" SCHOOL

Perhaps the new additions made the old school buildings look
shabby and this encouraged the Education Department to authorise its
paint and repair staff to re-paint the school buildings internally and
externally. An amount of £6,403.10.0 ($12,807.00) was estimated to
cover the work involved.

The school did not have school-pupil Captains until 1961. Since
then the boy and girl School Captains each year have been:-
