Improvements were made by this Education Department section in April
1924 and the costs were assessed at £78.0.0 ($156.00). Further renovations
were made to the Brown Muir School and completed on 26th July 1937.
The project was carried out by the Education Department's staff and
is said to have cost £104.0.0 ($208.00).

                The start of the 1938 school year showed a sharp drop in
school enrolments with only fifteen (15) pupils; The trend continued
and the Department of Education found it necessary in December 1940,
to again close Brown Muir School.
