WATT AGAN CREEK SCHOOL
On 30th July 1926, when school enrolments at Wattagan Creek had dropped
to eight (8) pupils, the Department of Education closed the Wattagan Creek
'Half-time' school. An offer was made to provide a subsidised teacher but
this was not accepted.
Wattagan Creek School re-opened as a 'Provisional' school on 2nd April
1940, with Richard Hopman as teacher.
On 24th November 1941, the Education Department completed some minor
repairs and renewals. Some additional ventilation was installed dur~ng this
work. The costs are shown as £131.4.1. ($262.41). However, the life of this
Wattagan 'Provisional' school was short. In December 1944, Wattagan Creek
School was closed permanently.

Wattagan Creek re-opened as a 'Provisional' School on 7th July 1830.

Wattagan Creek elevated to a 'Public School' as from 30th August 1283.
