ment of Public Instruction by a pupil-teacher named William Hollingsworth.

Miss E. Kempe, Government Architect, made an inspection of Mulbring
School late in 1890. She found that 'white-ants' had caused considerable
damage. She recommended to the Department that tenders should be called to
make repairs and re-line with cypress pine. Some additional improvements
were to be included. The successful contractor was James Richardson of Free
Church Street Maitland, with his quote of £65.0.0. ($130.00), who completed
the work on 10th February 1891.

Almost two (2) years later, Miss E. Kempe, on 28th December 1892,
on another inspection, found 'white-ant' damage in the teacher's residence.
Thomas Latter of Mulbring, completed repairs on 15th May 1893, and was paid
£15.10.0. ($31.00).

In February 1894, a new teacher, Mr. Alfred Stoneham, made application
to the Department of Public Instruction for the construction of a buggy shed
· and horsestall. Mr. Stoneham thought an estimated reasonable cost would be
£3.15.0. ($7.50). Inspector Pitt considered that the request was for the
teacher's pleasure and convenience, and as any handyman would, the teacher
should build the structure himself. Inspector Pitt recommended that the
teacher be allowed £1.10.0. ($3.00) - an amount which he estimated would
 purchase the materials.

Mr. J. Griffiths, a storekeeper at Mulbring, on 8th September 1894,
upon selling his business, gave a joint picnic to the adjoining schools of
Mulbring and Brunkerville, to show his appreciation of the district's patronage.

James Richardson of Maitland, on 1st February 1894, completed some
minor repairs and a repaint at the school. He was paid £25.0.0. ($50.00).
George Latter, on 29th April 1895, completed twenty two rods of new fencing
at 5/6d. ($0.56) per rod. John Irwin of West Maitland, on 14th Jar.ua~y 1897,
for £79.0.0. ($158.00) made repairs to 'white-ant' damage located in the school
by Mr. R. Crighton, Department of Public Works Supervisor. Inspector T.
Dwyer, on _2nd August 1899, authorised the payment of £25.0.0. ($50.00) to John
