KURRI KURRI HIGH SCHOOL
The present Headmaster, Mr. Len Hindmarsh, was responsible for
the acquisition of the Pokolbin Primary School Building. Pokolbin School,
historic in itself, was closed in December 1973. In April 1982, Pokolbin
School building was transported by Mr. Ken Wiseman of Wards River and
re-erected within the Kurri High School ground as a museum. Cost of
the transport and re-erection was $18,500.00. Mr. L. Hindmarsh has won
the interest and confidence of the people who are receiving and setting
up the valuable exhibits of our district's past. His encouragement will
result in one of the finest displays of local history within the State
of New South Wales.
The Kurri High School has also been enriched by gifts made by
'final-year-students' as a group - gifts which, each year, characterise
that particular group; gifts which show the thoughtfulness and appreci-
ation that these students held for their school. The list is far too
great to give a full sulTUT!ation. However, here are two examples:-
"1960 - Photographic Record Book - for past and future
1963 - The School Honour Board".
