Evidently the school fire must have drawn the Department of
Public Instruction's attention to their unused land within the Village
of Ellalong. This review resulted in the revoking of the land of the
original site of Ellalong National School on 28th June 1909. The old
National School site became Lots 8, 9 and 10 Section 3, Village of Ellalong,
Portion of Mulbring Street and Lots 12 and 13 Section 6. All the lots
became freehold land.

It was not until the completion of the 1910 school year that
tenders were called for the erection of a new schoolhouse at Ellalong.
Part of the present school site was acquired during June 1909. The
contracting firm of Howarth, Bartlett and Robinson were successful with
their quote of £273.0.0 ($546.00). The new school building was completed
and occupied on 1st May 1911.

The new school furniture consisted of the following:-

Ten (10) 8' Desks
Ten (10) 8' Forms
One (1 ) Large Table
One (1 ) Chair
Three (3) Large Tablets
Three (3) Medium Tablets
Three (3) Small Tablets
One (1 ) Map Hook

A weathershed, the school bell and the bell post were shifted from the
old school grounds onto the new site at Ellalong on 10th July 1911 by
R. Caban for an amount of £8.0.0 ($16.00).

A sad shock to the Ellalong school and also to the Ellalong
village and district was the sudden death of the teacher, Mr. P. Mc Mullen,
on Wednesday 8th May 1912.

Both the school and the residence were repainted during January 1920
by Archibald Hitchcock of Leichhardt, Sydney.
