and externally which was completed on 25th July 1949. The price submitted
was £3,262.13.0 ($6,525.30) and the successful contractor was Cox, Berrigan
and Munro.

                Two double timber classroom units, one for the primary ~nd one
for the infants school, were constructed during 1953 by A.H. Mc Kenzie.
His quote had been £1 ,632.16.7 ($3,265.67).

                Repairs and re-painting were made by the painting and repair
staff of the Education Department. This project was completed on 12th
March 1964. Costs were assessed at £9~368.16.2 ($18,737.62). This section
also made ground improvements on 21st September 1966 which were valued at
£340.0.0 ($680.00).

                The Education Department made more additions to Cessnock West
School which were finished on 28th January 1967. These additions
included one new brick veneer classroom, another hat room, a clinic and
a food servicing area. The successful tender price of £4,275.0.0 ($8,550.00)
had been made by K. Brownsmith, contractor of Garden Suburb.

                'On 15th May 1968, an external painting of the school by the
Department's repair staff, was estimated to have cost $2,893.00.
