What is a reference list?

A reference list includes all the information sources cited in an assignment. It is included at the end of the assignment, and is usually listed in alphabetical order by the first author of each source of information.

Generally, a bibliography includes not only the list of sources directly cited within a document, but also those sources referred to when researching for the assignment.

An annotated bibliography is an alphabetical list of sources, which also includes explanatory or critical notes about the source.
