On 6th December 1926, at a special meeting of the Nulkaba Parents
& Citizens Association, the President, Mr. Jas. R. Scott was removed from office
by 29 votes to one. He had been accused of using offensive and insulting words
. to the Nulkaba teacher, Mr. W. Oldham. He was replaced as President by Harold
Lett.
The Nulkaba Parents & Citizens Association, under Mr. Lett's leader-
ship were most active. An "Emil-Dresser" piano valued at £100.0.0. ($200.00)
was donated on 8th November 1927. During early 1928, the Association, by
physical labour, built flower beds, edged paths a.n.d carried out similar activitii

The Education Department made a grant of £10.3.9. ($20.39) to the Association
towards the cost of materials.
Repainting on 26th September 1939, cost the Department of Education
£39.0.0. ($78.00). More minor repainting on 27th April 1949, cost £47.0.0.
($94.00). Some more major repairs, repainting and refencing, on 30th January
1953, cost £1,066.0.0. ($2,132.00). On 8th November 1955, a weathershed was
completed at an assessed cost of £392.0.0. ($784.00). All these repair works
from 1939 to 1955, were made by the Education Department's paint and repair
works staff.
Increased pupil enrolment once again taxed the accommodation in 1958
at the Nulkaba School. To meet this need a portable classroom was transported
from Cessnock Primary School to Nulkaba. The Departmental records do not show
an assessment of the costs by its staff in carrying out this project.
The Education Department's work staff, on 13th February 196i, complete
an external and internal repaint of the Nulkaba Public School. The cost was
assessed at £2,980.17.0. ($5,961.70).
