authorised to perfonn the worl< by Order No. 61 of 1960, which shows his
tender to have been £2,539.0.0 ($5,078.00).

From the early war years, school enrolment numbers started to drop.
The school records for 1960 show the figures had dropped to two hundred and
sixty (260) pupils, with an average weekly attendance of two hundred and
thirty (230).
