Unemployed Relief work was provided after the depression years.
£60.0.0. ($120.00) was set aside and used on 22nd June 1932, to asphalt
portion of Kearsley School playground.
The Education Department repair staff made improvements and
renovations to the teacher's residence on 26th March 1943. The cost of
these renovations was estimated at £176.16.0. ($353.60) but actual costs
were £156. 3. 3. ($312. 33) .
The residence also received a repaint on . 11th July 1949, by the
same work section. Cost of the repaint was valued at £146.0.0. ($292.00J.
A new portabl~ classroom constructed by the State Dockyard at
Newcastle was erected by the Public Works Department at Kearsley School in
January 1982. This Department also built a canteen or food service area
for use by Kearsley P. & C. Association to provide the school children
lunches. The canteen was completed in July 1982.
