Effective note-taking
In nearly all forms of academic writing, you will need to support your arguments with reference to the literature, ensuring you cite all sources you consult.
Effective note-taking helps you to build evidence of your research.
Consider the following strategies for effective note-taking:
- Saving time and avoiding time wasters
- Surveying the arguments and supporting evidence
- Recording your citations
It's a good idea to retain any original sources of information, photocopies or printouts, at least until you have submitted your assignment, just in case you need to double-check any quotations, paraphrasing, etc.
