Refer to InfoSkills Module 4 - Summarising and Paraphrasing

Summarise the main points fully using your own words. If you use quotations, ensure you reference the author's ideas correctly. Write your critique of each point including your reasons why you agree/disagree ie. what are the strengths or weaknesses.

Generally, these would be written in sequence, with approximately 10% - 15% of the space used for the summary, at least 50% of this part dedicated to the critical analysis, and the remainder for evaluation and reflection. However, there are no rules about the exact proportions used for each section and they will differ for each review.

Overall, the format for the main part of your review is similar to the body of an essay, and use academic paragraph structures.
