9. Conclusion

 

The conclusion summarises the significance of the evidence (results) and points raised in your discussion to make the case for the outcome of your investigation.

 

In small or limited studies, however, the evidence may not be particularly strong and it may not be possible to come to a firm conclusion. In such cases, the inconclusive results need to be acknowledged, and recommendations might be formulated to help others avoid a similar outcome.


Under no circumstances should any part of the results be distorted to emphasise one aspect over others in order to provide a definite outcome.
