Tips for writing journal entries ...

One of the most important and sometimes most difficult tasks of writing a reflective journal is actually getting started. If you have not done this before, it may take you a few entries before you feel comfortable with your style and your lecturer's requirements.
If you're stuck and don’t know how to begin, try a free approach by writing down whatever you can think of that is related to your course for about 10 minutes. You could start with your hopes, expectations and concerns about the course.
Use a spare piece of paper and do not edit your thoughts or writing, just allow yourself to write down whatever you like. Remember you can always edit what you have written!
It can be difficult to write when you know your lecturer is going to read what you have written. Remember, they will be assessing for evidence of your critical thought and analysis and your reflections on what you have learned. Include your feelings about your experiences as they are part of your learning experiences too.
If you are unsure about how your journal is progressing and if you are meeting the requirements, check with your lecturer.
